ZASPIHE offers structured Internship and Volunteer Programs in Zanzibar, designed to provide participants with practical experience, professional exposure, and meaningful community engagement. Our programs connect international and local participants with host organizations, community projects, and institutions across multiple sectors.

ZASPIHE operates as a coordination and facilitation partner, ensuring that placements are well-organized, ethical, and aligned with both participant learning objectives and community needs.

Participation requires advance booking only. Once booked, all placement coordination and local arrangements are managed by ZASPIHE.

Program Structure & Placement Approach

Placements may take place within ZASPIHE projects or with partner organizations and institutions across Zanzibar. Depending on the selected sector, participants may be placed in one or multiple locations to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.

ZASPIHE is responsible for:

Assessing participant interests and backgrounds

Matching participants with suitable placements

Coordinating schedules and host communication

Providing ongoing support and follow-up

Participants are only responsible for booking and arrival.

Available Sectors
1. Sustainable Agriculture & Organic Farming Program

This program provides hands-on exposure to organic and non-organic farming systems, including organic agriculture, mushroom production, beekeeping, and spice cultivation. Participants gain comparative insight into sustainable and conventional agricultural practices while working directly with local farmers and agricultural projects.

2. Health & Community Wellbeing Program

Focused on community health and public health initiatives, this program offers placements in clinics, health centers, NGOs, and community health projects. Activities are non-clinical and supervised, emphasizing health education, prevention, and community wellbeing.

3. Education & Community Learning Program

This program supports formal and informal education environments, including schools, learning centers, and youth programs. Participants assist teachers and educators through classroom support, language activities, and community-based learning initiatives.

4. Sports & Youth Development Program
